Privacy Policy

Book Dream ("we", "our", or "the app") is built with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The short version: We don't collect your personal information. Your text and content stay on your device. We only gather anonymous usage analytics to improve the app.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Book Dream does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Text, documents, or any content you input into the app
- Photos, videos, or camera data
- Location data
- Browsing history or search queries
- Contacts, calendars, or other personal data
2. Authentication
Book Dream uses Sign in with Apple, which is designed to protect your privacy. Apple provides us with a unique, app-specific identifier and, optionally, a private relay email address. We do not receive your real email address or Apple ID. Your authentication credentials are stored locally in the iOS Keychain on your device.
3. Anonymous Analytics
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
Analytics data includes:
- Which features are used (e.g., input methods, export actions)
- General app events (e.g., generation started, completed, or failed)
- App performance and crash diagnostics (via Apple MetricKit)
Analytics data does not include:
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
- Any content you create or input
- Your real device identifier (a double-hashed vendor ID is used)
We also use Apple MetricKit to collect crash diagnostics and performance metrics. This data is gathered by the operating system and delivered to the app in aggregate form. It does not include any personally identifiable information or user content. MetricKit data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to any external server.

4. Tracking
Book Dream does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or any cross-app tracking technology. The app does not participate in any ad network or data broker ecosystem. No App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt is required because no tracking occurs.
5. On-Device Processing
Book Dream processes your content on your device. Text input, video scanning (VICI mode), and document scanning all happen locally. Content is never uploaded to our servers because we don't have any.
6. Third-Party AI Providers
Book Dream can optionally connect to third-party AI providers to generate content. These connections are initiated by you and use your own API keys:
- Apple Intelligence — processed on-device, no data leaves your phone
- OpenAI (GPT) — subject to OpenAI's privacy policy
- Anthropic (Claude) — subject to Anthropic's privacy policy
- Google (Gemini) — subject to Google's privacy policy
Your API keys are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on any server. Book Dream does not operate any backend that handles API keys.
When you use an external AI provider, only the text needed for question generation is sent to that provider via their API. API keys are not used for image generation or any other purpose, so usage of your keys remains minimal. We do not act as an intermediary and have no access to these communications.
7. Content Safety
Book Dream includes content safety features to ensure appropriate material for educational use. All content safety checks are performed entirely on-device using local models and keyword filtering. No content is sent to external services for moderation.
8. Data Storage and Deletion
All app data — including your generated worksheets, history, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your data.
To delete all app data, simply delete the Book Dream app from your device. Since no data is stored on any server, deletion is immediate and complete.
If you have signed in with Apple, you can delete your account from within the app's settings. This removes your authentication credentials from the device. You can also revoke Book Dream's access to your Apple ID at any time via Settings > Apple ID > Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple on your device.
9. Purchases and Subscriptions
Book Dream offers optional subscriptions and a lifetime purchase to unlock access to external AI providers. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We do not use any third-party payment or subscription service.
We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, billing details, or purchase history. Your subscription status is verified locally on your device through Apple's transaction system and is never sent to any server.

In accordance with Apple's App Store requirements, here is how Book Dream's data practices map to the App Privacy "nutrition labels":
- Data Used to Track You: None

- Data Not Linked to You: Anonymous analytics (app usage and diagnostics) via TelemetryDeck
11. Children's Privacy
Book Dream is designed for educators and parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, the app is safe for use in educational settings.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
